Turmeric Popcorn

By: Esther Vasa

Who doesn't like to sit back, relax and snack on a bag of popcorn? The store bought popcorn is most likely made with GMO corn and the fat used may not be as healthy too. Here is an easy way to make healthy and delicious popcorn in the comfort of your home!

Ingredients:
Turmeric Popcorn
Organic Non-GMO Whole Corn - 1/2 cup (I get it from Tropical Traditions)
Melted Coconut oil or Oil of your choice - 3 tbsp
Himalayan Salt - 1/4th tsp
Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
Paprika - a pinch (or more if you like it spicy)

Preparation:
  • In a heavy bottomed steel stockpot with a vented lid, mix up all the ingredients listed, cover and let this be on medium heat for 3-4 minutes and keep shaking the stockpot so the corn gets evenly heated.
  • When the corn starts popping, reduce the heat and continue shaking the stockpot until the pop reduces to 5-10 second interval.
  • Turn off the heat and remove the lid carefully. Stir with a spoon and transfer the popcorn into a serving bowl.
  • Enjoy this snack with your family and friends.
