Sesame Butter

For those who are allergic to nuts, here is an option for enjoying vegan butter made from sesame seeds.

1 ½ cups unhulled sesame seeds
¼ cup sesame seed oil
1 tbsp. raw, organic honey (optional)
  1. Place sesame seeds in a shallow pan and roast at 350ºF for about 20 minutes.
  2. Cool and place in a blender. Cover and blend on medium speed until the seeds are finely ground. 
  3. Add the oil (and honey if used) slowly, blending and stirring until creamy.
Alternatives:
You can also buy Hemp seed butter at your Health Shop – it really tastes very nice! You can also dilute the seed-butter with an equal amount of chia gel.
