Sapodilla Smoothie

Fresh/Frozen Sapodilla – 2 cups
Pistachio – 1/4th cup (soaked for an hour at least)
Juice of ½ Lemon (substitute with 1 cup skim-milk if you are not on a casein-free diet)
Brown Sugar – 1 tbsp (optional, I don’t use sugar)
Water – 3-4 cups (based on desired thickness of the smoothie)

Sapodilla is very rich in fiber and effectively relieves bowel problems. Also it removes toxins from your colon. It is a nutrient-rich fruit with a variety of minerals like potassium, folate and iron and also in vitamins A & C. What is more important to know about this fruit is that it is rich in antioxidants called tannins that help with gut problems.

Blend all the ingredients thoroughly and serve it cold.

Serves: 3 or 4
