Soaring Free Superfoods

By: Elna Botes van Schalkwyk

Peter and Beryn Daniel started Soaring Free Superfoods when they returned home to South Africa from the UK in 2006.

We are raw foodists and superfoodists as well as trained Raw Food Chefs and authors of South Africa's first gourmet raw food recipe book, RAWlicious (comically referred to by the press as "the uncook book"). When we arrived back in South Africa we were amazed to find that no-one knew what superfoods were or that you could actually thrive on eating all your food raw! We'd already been eating raw foods and using superfoods in our recipes abroad for some time, so we immediately went about correcting this scenario and making these amazing superfoods available in South Africa and putting raw foods on the map. Now Soaring Free Superfoods is the leading source of a wide variety of organic Superfoods.

We import only the highest quality organic superfoods from around the world, including:
Goji Berries
Raw Cacao (healthy chocolate!)
Maca Powder
Hemp Seed Powder
Spirulina
Coconut Oil
with more being added all the time.
Eating & enjoying superfoods is only part of what we do.
Our other activities involve Raw Food Education.

The motto we live by is: Eat as close to nature as possible.

We've been teaching the concepts and practicalities of a raw food lifestyle for over 3 years via our Raw Food Weekend Courses and the secret is now leaking out into the mainstream! June 2009 saw the launch of our first, and indeed South Africa’s first gourmet Raw Food Recipe Book, called RAWlicious, delicious raw recipes for radiant health.

RAWlicious is the perfect practical and information-packed introduction to this lifestyle.

What are superfoods?
Superfoods are foods that are exceptionally high in vitamins, minerals and overall nutritional value. Eating superfoods helps to re-mineralise the body, minimizing the desire for snacking on sugar rich foods, helping the body get back on track with a healthy lifestyle.

Why Raw?
Eating RAW means no cooking. We all know what to eat - fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. The most important thing to understand is that when you cook these foods we lose most of the goodness inherent within them. However, eating RAW is far from boring or just plain rabbit food. There is a new culinary trend of gourmet raw foods sweeping our planet as we begin to embrace conscious living through conscious eating.
